Building a kitchen¶
The configurator is a live 3D scene. Everything you place there — cabinets, finishes, the room shape — is the design that later becomes a CNC job.
1. Pick a room shape¶
Start from one of five wall-run layouts:
- L-Shape
- U-Shape
- Galley
- One-Wall
- G-Shape
Switching shapes rebuilds the room geometry — do this before you place cabinets, since it clears the layout.
2. Place cabinets from the catalog¶
The catalog is grouped into five categories:

Pick a cabinet type, then place it on a wall run. Placement has two modes — lower and upper — matching where on the wall the cabinet sits (base run vs. wall/upper run).
3. Edit a placed cabinet¶
Select a cabinet in the scene to:
- Change its hinge side
- Change its finish
- Remove it
4. Set finishes¶
Finishes drive both the door/face color and the underlying material, and the same finish id is used by the 3D scene, the thumbnails, and the finish picker, so what you pick is what you'll see everywhere. Available finishes span paint grades (white, gray, navy, matte black), thermofoil white, and natural wood species (maple, oak, cherry, walnut). The default is Maple – Natural.
Floor and countertop materials are set the same way, from their own pickers.
